Where We Are

Our house is located in the south-east of the Vendée department, close to the border with Deux-Sèvres. The house is in a quiet hamlet that lies roughly halfway between the towns of Pouzauges and La Châtaigneraie.

The range of gentle, rolling hills in the area is known as ‘les collines Vendéens’ and the countryside, which is known as the ‘haut bocage’, consists of a mixture of fields enclosed by hedges and woodland.

The Vendée is noted for having a ‘micro-climate’ that gives it a particularly high number of sunshine hours.
